Event: Rainbow Rage

The annual Rainbow Rage event is a 106 KM mountain bike tour that starts outside of St Arnaud and finishes in the Hanmer domain. The ride goes through some of the South Island’s awesome sub alpine high country.
Event: Ground Effect 12 Hour Day / Nighter Mountain Bike

The Ground Effect 12 hour Day/Nighter is a not to be missed event, great mountain biking combined with the atmosphere created when several hundred like minded mountain bikers get together. The concept of a 12 hour race is very basic, simply ride as many laps of the 9km course as you can in 12 hours. You can ride either as a solo rider or in a team, be competitive or be relaxed.

This is one of the most scenic half marathons in New Zealand with men’s, women’s, Veteran men’s and Veteran women’s grades. Maybe tackle the 10km fun run for the not so serious runner and relax in the hot pools afterwards.
