Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa:
Most people visit Hanmer Springs for the Thermal Pools, and why wouldn’t you? Voted “Best Visitor Attraction” from 2003 - 2006 at the New Zealand Tourism Awards, The variety of the thermal pools ensures there is something for everyone and includes sulphur and rock pools that range in temperature from 34˚ - 42˚C. Children are catered for with a family activity pool and waterslides and there is a picnic area, café and bar onsite. Set in breathtaking scenery and nestled in the magnificent South Island High Country the Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa have, since 1879, attracted visitors seeking the benefits of its natural mineral waters and clean, clear alpine air.
Wai ariki, Nature Park, Café and Quilt Shop:
The Nature Park is a purpose built facility situated in a sunny 2 acre area sheltered by trees. The animals are displayed in a tranquil and clean environment where people can access the pens to touch and hand feed the animals. See the Red Deer, Wapiti Deer, Highland Cattle, Nubian and Angora Goats, Emu, American Bison, Alpaca and Lllama, Rabbits, Pigs, Ducks, Chickens and Eels.
